Orion International Matches Military Veterans in the Detroit area with Careers

Orion International is the nation’s largest military career placement firm, having matched nearly 30,000 veterans with careers since 1991, all free of charge to the veterans. Offering about 75 Hiring Conferences a year throughout the US, Orion is excited to be adding Detroit, MI, to their conference locations. The very first Detroit Orion Hiring Conference will be held August 26 & 27, 2013, at the Embassy Suites Hotel Detroit -Southfield and will bring more than 20 companies together with over 55 veteran job seekers.

Veterans from all around the Midwest will assemble for the two-day event, featuring Detroit-based companies like automotive suppliers Tower International, Bosch North America, and Federal-Mogul, as well as steel manufacturer Severstal. Stryker, a Fortune 500 medical equipment manufacturer also headquartered in Michigan, and Owens Corning, out of Ohio, will also be recruiting military talent at the conference. Each veteran has been specifically chosen for this conference and will participate in a full day of interview preparation, briefings on the interviewing companies and positions, and networking opportunities followed the next day by pre-arranged interviews with Hiring Managers.

“There is some outstanding military talent in the Greater Detroit area. That fact, coupled with the region’s high unemployment rate, makes Detroit a natural choice for an Orion Hiring Conference. Orion has a history of successfully placing veterans no matter the economic climate, and we look forward to connecting the veterans in attendance with the excellent career opportunities offered by our clients,” says Bob Overbeek, Account Executive at Orion International, who is leading the event.

Designed to be a one-stop hiring experience for job seekers, Orion conferences have been described as providing “more opportunity in the form of one hiring conference than over 100 applications on nearly every job board imaginable.” Positions available at the Detroit Hiring Conference include Leadership Development Programs, Production Supervisors, Project Managers and Engineers, as well as Skilled Trades Technicians in union and non-union manufacturing environments.

The Detroit Hiring Conference will take place August 26 & 27, at Embassy Suites Hotel Detroit - Southfield.
