Toys for Little Troops - World Record Breaking Toy Drive

Toys For Lil Troops is a US Veteran Corps program that was founded by a USVC member, SSGT Stan Pinkus. He wanted to create a toy program that provided toys specifically to the children of low income and/or deployed troops. Every year, US Veterans Corps delivers these toys to local military installations including, but not limited to, Fort Bragg, Camp Lejeune, Fort Lee, Seymour Johnson, and the NC National Guard. US Veteran Corps also deliver toys year round to the children of Veteran families in need.

This year, Toys for Lil Troops set out to break a world record of 45,657 pounds of toys donated in 24 hours, and Orion was honored to help join the cause.

We had fun participating in a Spirit Week as a fundraiser, and sent teams out to go toy shopping. We made every penny count to put smiles and make memories for children this holiday season.

In total, Orion employees purchased a total of 7 large boxes of toys, weighing 1,262 pounds, contributing to the world record of the largest toy drive in 24 hours with a final total of 52,779 pounds of toys donated.

The holiday cheer was felt all over at the drop off location at Lenovo in Morrisville, North Carolina for the unloading and weighing of the toys, you would have thought it was the North Pole! Orion is honored to help and participate in such a wonderful organization.
